penny for pound - moorabbin

Penny For Pound’s second bakery occupies a prominent position within the restored Morris Moor precinct in Moorabbin, expanding the brand’s presence through a highly considered hospitality environment. Led by pastry chef Matilda Smith alongside partner Ben Wilson, the 550-square-metre café is designed to immerse customers in the making process, reinforcing transparency, craft, and connection.

The interior palette balances vibrant, playful colour with grounded material warmth. Tasmanian Oak detailing and terrazzo flooring provide tonal depth and durability, anchoring the space while allowing the bakery’s energy and production-led layout to remain front and centre.

As part of the fit-out, Mortadello Terrazzo manufactured eight custom outdoor dining ‘Chubby Tables’ in a bespoke mint terrazzo finish. Designed for high-traffic hospitality use, the tables extend the café experience into the outdoor realm, pairing sculptural form with the durability required for public environments.
